About Us
Biking.ie was born in 2007 by Tarja Owens and Niall Davis, two of Ireland's most experienced mountain bikers and highly accomplished International competitors, with a wealth of biking knowledge.
Our Vision
We are passionate about biking and love spending time in the mountains with like minded people and appreciate the outstanding natural beauty on our doorstep. We aspire to be outstanding service providers, consistently offering the highest quality products and a premium level service to all our customers. We treat our staff as friends would treat each other and operate in a fair and environmentally responsible manner.
Did you know
- Tarja is a Sydney Olympian and holds over 20 Irish National Mountain Bike Championship titles across a range of disciplines. Tarja also holds a degree in Sports Science, NMT and Osteopathy to name but a few qualifications
- Niall is a former Single Speed World Champion and has competed at World Cup level in DH, XC, Enduro and CX. Niall is also the head Trail Designer for all the new Coillte trails
- Winners of the 'Green Business Award' from Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council
- Members of Sustainable Tourism Ireland and Supporters of Trash Free MTB
- Awarded Outsider Magazine 'Event of the Year' for hosting the Enduro World Series in County Wicklow
- Awarded Cycling Ireland 'Best Competitive Event' for hosting the European Marathon Championships in Ballyhoura County Limerick
- Awarded Outsider Magazine 'Event of the Year' for the successful hosting of the inaugural Gravity Enduro Ireland Series, Ireland's first Enduro series
- We are qualified MBLA Mountain Bike Guides since 2005
- All staff hold a valid REC 3 First Aid certificate
- Our instructors are Garda Vetted and Certified in Code of Ethics for Children's Sport.
A word on the Environment
We believe in preserving, respecting and nurturing Irish green space. We know that our business activities impact upon the environment and we are committed to alleviating those negative impacts and in doing so we want to inspire our customers, staff and suppliers to join us on our sustainability journey.
