A short break with no shortage of biking, we will take in the best trails on the East Coast of Ireland, with riding in Counties Dublin and Wicklow. We've pitched this trip at mountain bikers looking to experience great trails and take in breathtaking views of Ireland's rivers, lakes and coastline... a genuinely Irish experience. This tour is suited to riders with a minimum level 2C abilities.
We reckon Ireland has the best mountain biking in the world. In fact we're so sure about it that we guarantee you'll have a great time! We promise to show you the absolute best trails we have, no shortcuts.
Day One - Friday - Arrival and Biking in the Dublin Mountains / 35km / 1100mtrs
We will collect you at Dublin airport and take you to your hotel in the picturesque village of Enniskerry, right on the Dublin/Wicklow boarder. Saddle up and get ready for some amazing singletrack trails and stunning views from the get go!
At just over 500 meters above sea level, Three Rock Mountain boasts commanding views over Dublin Bay. On a clear day you can even see the Mourne Mountains of Northern Ireland and Mount Snowdon in Wales. The mountain bike trails are a perfect mix of man-made tracks which have jumps and berms and the more natural single tracks with plenty of rocks and roots. A trip to the Dublin Mountain wouldn't be complete without a stop at Johnny Fox's Pub, the highest pub in Ireland. We conveniently finish the ride back at our hotel in Enniskerry where a post spin pick-me-up coffee is essential and we spoilt for choice in Enniskerry!
Day Two - Saturday - Wicklow Mountains / 45 km / 1300mtrs
Again the trails are sweetly crafted singletrack with high speed flowing corners, switch back climbs and even a few technical rock and root sections. They call Wicklow the 'Garden of Ireland' and it's no wonder with the picture postcard views of Powerscourt Waterfall and Lough Tay. Riding into the sun as we make our way south, to the highest point on today's ride is just over 600 meters, near Djouce Mountain- a popular spot for local mountain bikers.
Day Three - Sunday - Wicklow Coastline / 30 km / 750mtrs
Riding straight from the hotel door we quickly climb into the hills and offroad. We'll be checking out some of breathtaking singletrack that lines the Irish coastline. With spectacular views and gentle climbs, it really is a nice way to wind down the legs and round off a fantastic weekend biking in Ireland. With a late check out arranged, we can pop back to the hotel for a shower before the evening flight home.
