Climb on board for a beginners basics mountain bike lesson.
Our beginners basics course gives you a real taste for the sport while improving your bike skills at the same time, ideal for newbies or experienced riders who haven't taken lessons before. You will come away from the session with lots of new information and skills that would normally take years to build up.
- Bike setup
- Riding Position
- Balance Skills
- Gear usage
- Braking techniques
- Question and answer sessions.
The skills are practiced in wide open spaces before we hit the trails. There is a mix of forest road and trail centre single track.
Participants require a basic level of fitness. However, during the course there are frequent breaks to accommodate questions and answers. So the training day will not be physically demanding at all.
If you haven't got your own bike, then you can hire one at a discounted rate of €10. Otherwise your own bike must be in perfect working order.
It is important to wrap up warm on the day and some light rain gear is advisable. Avoid cotton t-shirts, hoodies and wearing loose baggy clothes because they flap in the wind and snag on the bike. Helmets are essential.
10am to 1pm - 3 hours.
Max 8 people.
- €50 per person
- €40 for Cycling Ireland members
- Add €10 for bike hire
